General information
Turris Gaia is an urban aeroponic farm that will grow fresh food vertically in the heart of Jávea.
Using aeroponic tower systems, plants grow without soil while their roots are nourished by a nutrient-rich mist. This method uses up to 90–95% less water than traditional agriculture, while producing fresh food in a compact urban space.
The farm will be located near the Arenal area and will function as a visible, living demonstration of sustainable food production.
Visitors will be able to see how food can be grown locally, efficiently, and with minimal environmental impact.
The project aims not only to produce fresh vegetables, but also to create a small green hub for the community, where people can learn about new ways of growing food.
Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign
Turris Gaia is designed to be more than a farm.
Alongside food production, the project will launch the Gaia Solidarity Basket, a small community initiative through which part of the harvest will be shared with local initiatives and people who need access to fresh food.
By combining sustainable production with community support, the farm aims to become a small but meaningful contributor to local food resilience.
With the support of this campaign we will be able to launch the first phase of the farm, including:
• preparation of the space and landscaping
• installation of the first aeroponic towers
• irrigation and water circulation system
• initial solar infrastructure
• the first cultivation cycles
This first phase will create a fully functioning pilot farm and allow the project to begin producing fresh food locally.
Why this is important
Much of the food we consume travels long distances before reaching our plates.
Urban farming offers a way to bring food production closer to the places where people live, reducing transport, saving water, and increasing local resilience.
Aeroponic tower systems make it possible to grow food in places where traditional agriculture would not normally exist.
Turris Gaia is an experiment in rethinking how cities and communities can produce food locally, while also creating educational and social value.
Turris Gaia is created by Carmen, a sustainability consultant and certified Zero Waste expert who has worked internationally on environmental and community projects.
After years of working on sustainable systems and circular economy initiatives, this project represents a practical, local application of those ideas — bringing innovative food production directly into the urban environment.
The goal is to demonstrate that even small urban spaces can become productive, educational, and regenerative environments.
