About this project

A documentary that exposes the true impact of renewable energy on rural Spain

Needs Task Minimum Optimum
Development, Production, and Post-Production Costs and taxes
Before ‘Renovables Forzosas’ hits the screens, there is a long process of research, creation and development. (15% - €1,200) Script development: Transforming all the information gathered into a coherent and exciting narrative, capable of connecting with the audience and conveying the message in a clear and concise way. (The rest has already been partly financed with own funds) (10% - €800) Acquisition of copyright: Obtaining the necessary permissions to use archive images, music and other copyrighted materials. (15% - €1200) Pre-production development: Preparation of the technical script, selection of the film crew, location scouting, preparation of technical equipment, etc. (20% - €1600) Filming and production costs: Although we are a small team, the shooting schedule has been carried out with great flexibility in order to reduce costs as much as possible. (The rest has already been financed with our own funds) (20% - €1600) Post-production and sound improvements: The best way to reach a large audience is to meet the quality standards required by most channels and platforms. (20% - €1600) Tax payment to the Treasury after payment of the platform commissions. These processes are essential to guarantee the quality and rigour of the documentary. Your support will allow us to carry out the initial production phase and lay the foundations for a high-impact project.

Platform commission costs (6%) on top of the minimum involve additional costs to our minimum funding target.

Insurance and Distribution Costs
To guarantee the highest quality and protect our work, we need your support. The additional funds we are requesting will enable us to cover the legal and insurance costs necessary to carry out this documentary film project with a social conscience. Legal Expenses and Insurance: (50% - €5,000): Essential for safe exhibition. Legal advice is fundamental for navigating the complex audiovisual world and guaranteeing compliance with all regulations. We need experts to advise us on the protection of our copyright, on the negotiation of contracts and on the management of possible legal conflicts. Likewise, production insurance is essential to protect our investment and ensure the continuity of the project. This insurance will cover us against possible unforeseen events, such as damage to equipment, production interruptions or third-party claims. With your help, we can have the peace of mind and legal security we need to focus on what really matters: telling our story and making a positive impact. Distribution and promotion: (50% - €5,000): It's not a big budget, but it's enough. To generate real change, it is essential that our message reaches as many people as possible. ‘Renovables Forzosas’ not only seeks to make visible a reality that affects many Spanish communities, but also to generate a debate at the European level on the need for a fair and sustainable energy transition. With your support, we can guarantee that our documentary reaches decision-makers by taking it to film festivals and content and TV series acquisition markets, platform programmers and buyers interested in screening our story in the rest of Europe. We also need to cover the additional cost of getting the message across to those who are directly affected by this problem or may be in the future.

General information

General Information

Imagine a peaceful village, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, where life moves in harmony with nature. Now, imagine that overnight, massive electricity transmission towers and huge photovoltaic plants invade this landscape, forever changing the lives of its inhabitants.

This is what is happening in many villages across Spain, where renewable energy projects are being implemented without considering their social and environmental impact.

In Forced Renewables, we want to give a voice to all those affected by this situation. We aim to expose the injustices and consequences of a poorly planned energy transition. We want our society to understand that clean energy cannot be built at the cost of destroying our rural natural and cultural heritage or sacrificing local communities for the profit of a few investors.

Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign

Project Characteristics:

  • An Investigative Documentary – It delves into a current but little-known issue, providing data and testimonies to help understand its complexity.
  • A Strong Social Focus – It prioritizes the voices of affected communities and seeks to drive social change.
  • Environmental Impact – One of its most relevant aspects is exposing the damage caused by the implementation of renewable energy projects without proper planning.
  • Citizen Participation – It raises awareness of the issue and serves as a call to action, encouraging public debate and civic involvement in decision-making.

Why this is important

Motivation and Target Audience

We believe in an energy future where renewable sources form the foundation of our energy system. However, this transition must be fair and participatory. Our documentary aims to give a voice to communities affected by these projects and foster a public debate that helps build a more democratic and transparent energy model. We want to show that it is possible to balance the development of renewable energy with environmental protection and improved quality of life for people.

Who is this project for?

  • Environmentally conscious citizens – People committed to protecting the environment and fighting climate change.
  • Rural communities – Those affected by the installation of renewable energy projects without proper consultation.
  • Activists and environmental organizations – Groups and associations working to defend the environment and the rights of local communities.
  • Students and young people – Those interested in the energy transition and building a more sustainable future.
  • Opinion leaders – Journalists, bloggers, and influencers engaged in social and environmental issues.
  • Policymakers and decision-makers – To encourage the development of fairer and more sustainable public policies.
