General information

D-AICE (Detect-AI-Content Engine) is an ethical artificial intelligence experiment created to help society understand how machines write, think, and interact with human creativity.
Its purpose is not to restrict the use of AI, but to promote transparency, education, and responsibility in the new era of digital authorship.

D-AICE Prototype
(Works with any language)

Today, artificial intelligence can generate articles, essays, poems, and even entire books.
This ability is extraordinary, but it also raises important questions:
How do we distinguish genuine human expression from algorithmic imitation?
How can teachers, journalists, or artists trust the originality of what they read?
How can AI and humanity coexist with honesty and respect?

D-AICE was created as an open and reflective response to these questions.
It uses advanced linguistic analysis and neural pattern recognition to identify when text has been produced by an AI model.
Instead of providing a simple score, D-AICE offers context: it highlights sections that show machine patterns, explains the reasoning behind detections, and helps users learn how artificial language differs from human expression.

The project is grounded in free software principles and social responsibility.
Its core engine will be released under an open license, allowing developers, educators, and researchers to collaborate, verify, and improve it.

D-AICE is not a surveillance tool or a commercial detector.
It is a public good designed to restore trust, protect creativity, and promote ethical coexistence between humans and intelligent systems.

By supporting this campaign, contributors help to develop:

  • a transparent web platform
  • an educational edition for schools and universities
  • an open research API for journalists and developers

The ultimate goal is to make AI literacy accessible to everyone and to ensure that technology continues to serve humanity with clarity, humility, and purpose.

Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign

D-AICE (Detect-AI-Content Engine) is a free software experiment designed to recognize when text has been generated by artificial intelligence — not to restrict its use, but to understand and humanize it.

The goal of this campaign is to make AI transparency accessible to everyone through open tools that help teachers, journalists, and creators distinguish between human and machine writing.

With this crowdfunding campaign we will:

  • Develop D-AICE as a free web platform where anyone can test if a text is AI-generated.
  • Create an educational edition for schools and universities to promote reflection on creativity and authorship.
  • Publish an open API for researchers, journalists, and developers working on digital ethics.
  • Release a transparency report and open dataset explaining how detection decisions are made.
  • Build a global community of contributors improving the algorithm and translating it into multiple languages.

The goal is not control, but understanding.
D-AICE demonstrates that free software and artificial intelligence can coexist ethically, illuminating the space where human and artificial creativity meet.

Why this is important

Artificial intelligence is changing how we create, learn, and communicate.
Every day, thousands of texts, essays, and articles are generated by machines.
This can be a wonderful tool, but it also creates confusion about authorship, originality, and truth.

D-AICE was created to bring clarity to this new digital landscape.
It helps people see where human creativity ends and where machine assistance begins.
It is not a tool for control or censorship, but a way to encourage responsibility, transparency, and awareness.

By supporting this project, you are helping to build a more honest and conscious digital culture — one in which technology remains a partner to humanity, not its replacement.

D-AICE is important because it promotes trust, education, and respect between human and artificial intelligence.

Team and experience

D-AICE was conceived and developed by Angelo Ovidi, an engineer and polymath with more than thirty years of experience in technology, data, and innovation.

Throughout his career, Angelo has worked in areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and customer experience architecture.
He has collaborated with international technology companies and led projects that combine technical precision with human-centered design.

He is also the founder of Rubedo Data Solutions Ltd and AOvidi Ltd, and the owner of Lichtsome Hoose Ltd, the company restoring Baltersan Castle in Scotland as a future cultural and educational hub.
His background reflects a constant dialogue between technology, art, and ethics.

The D-AICE project brings together this experience to create a tool that unites scientific rigor with philosophical depth.
The small, distributed team supporting D-AICE includes data scientists, educators, and developers who share the same goal: making artificial intelligence more transparent and more human.
