🎶 On Sunday, September 8th, we inaugurate the Chamber Cycle of Migjorn with the concert "Spanish Airs." 🎶
The harp and the flute, two instruments with ancient roots, come together in this concert to weave a musical story that resonates with their antiquity. From the temples of ancient Egypt to medieval courts, the harp and flute have been companions in the creation of harmonies that transcend time, offering a sound experience deeply rooted in history and filled with delicacy.
The concert is a musical journey inspired by Spanish airs and the passion of Iberian and Latin American rhythms.
We begin with Libertango by Astor Piazzolla, where the energy of tango transforms into a modern and vibrant expression. Next is a Milonga by Alberto Ginastera, a piece that captures the essence of traditional Argentine dances. We continue with Rumores de la Caleta by Isaac Albéniz, an evocation of the sounds and rhythms of Andalusia, full of color and life. Following that is Barroco Flamenco by Deborah Henson-Conant, a unique fusion of baroque elegance with the visceral passion of flamenco, where the harp becomes an instrument of rhythmic and melodic expression full of strength and emotion.
Mallorca, Festa de Poble by Andreu Torrens takes us to the heart of Mallorca's popular festivals, while Sonatina de Bressol by Jaume Mas Porcel immerses us in the tenderness of an intimate and delicate melody. Les folies d'Espagne by Marin Marais showcases the virtuosity of the flute, presented through a small theme that unfolds into a range of variations.
We return to Piazzolla with Oblivion, a piece full of nostalgia and melancholy. With Las Ventas de Madrid by Antoni Torrandell, we will feel the power and drama of Madrid's bullring. L'Entracte by Jacques Ibert takes us to a world of Parisian sophistication and elegance. The Hungarian vibration arrives with Czardas by Vittorio Monti, a piece full of virtuosity and passion. Finally, the concert concludes with Por una Cabeza by Carlos Gardel, a tango classic that unites melody and emotion in a final crescendo.
This program showcases a musical journey through different geographies, but always with the Spanish and Latin American soul as the common thread.
It will be an evening of classical music in an incomparable setting! 🎼✨
