๐ณ Conflicts that empty towns, accidents that change lives, cultures that disappear... Since the beginning of time and since childhood we know that the only immutable thing is change itself. And that the more important the more rarely it warns before arriving. The summer return is a time when we realize how very different our lives can be and it is natural to consider changes upon return. Today from here we encourage you to connect with that powerful inner strength to remember that, since change is inevitable, if there is something you can improve, go ahead and do it ๐.
๐ฌ In this newsletter we present three projects that face difficult times not only with serenity and optimism but with concrete actions. We are talking about a daughter who starts a route to bring a little more visibility and hope to people with reduced mobility like her father; a children's and youth theater network that struggles to survive with the mission of continuing to inspire the new generations in the performing arts; and the recovery of a town after abandonment and depopulation caused by a civil war. We hope they inspire you to continue being part of the change we want to be.
Miles that change lives ๐ด
๐ด "Miles that change lives" was born from the need for independence and sports for รngel. Who in November 2017 suffered a bicycle accident on an outing with his Club "el Abrojo", which was the cause of his current disability situation: hemiplegia in the right part of the body and aphasia.
๐ง With this initiative where her daughter Alicia is going to make a 900km journey to Santiago de Compostela by bicycle, shared online and live with all those people who want to travel with her, she wants to give visibility to people with reduced mobility , send a message to society letting them know that there are options that adapt to the needs of all and that we can fight for a more accessible life.

Let's save FIET, let's save Sa Xerxa! ๐ญ
๐คน From Sa Xerxa they want to achieve two essential objectives: on the one hand, to encourage quality shows to reach all corners of the Balearic Islands and, at the same time, to be able to contribute decisively to the reinforcement of the community's cultural industry.
๐ด Now that they are turning 20, they are in a delicate economic moment that threatens the continuity of both the FIET and the global Sa Xerxa project. For this reason, they want to ask you to help make this twentieth edition of the fair a reality and continue with the project of making culture one of the engines of the islands.

Consolidation of Coton's Tower ๐ผ
๐ In the Aragonese Pyrenees, hundreds of towns were expropriated in the fifties and sixties of the 20th century, due to the construction of reservoirs, which led to the exodus of its inhabitants, depopulation, abandonment and the destructuring of entire counties.
๐ The Workers Commissions union, aware and committed against the abandonment and depopulation suffered by hundreds of towns in Alto Aragรณn, has undertaken a project to recover from abandonment one of those towns, Morillo de Tou, on the banks of the Mediano reservoir, in the Sobrarbe region (Huesca) and its Coton Tower.

Journal: Challenges and opportunities for the creative and cultural sector in terms of community financing with the Open Heritage Observatory Cases ๐
๐ Abandoned or underused places pose a major challenge for both the public and private sectors, but they also represent great opportunities. That is why the Platoniq Foundation together with Eutropian have developed and carried out the Open Heritage Training Program with the aim of targeting urban professionals involved in issues related to heritage protection and adaptive reuse.
๐ With the creation of training modules to help those interested in the reuse of empty or underused buildings with symbolic or practical heritage significance, we disclose such interesting data as that, only in the European cultural and creative sector, individuals and cultural organizations from Some 75,000 crowdfunding campaigns have been launched throughout Europe since 2013, raising a total of โฌ247 million, especially in the United Kingdom and France, among which we would like to highlight La Fรกbrika de Toda La Vida and La Benรฉfica.
๐ก La Fรกbrika's initiative began at the end of 2009 to rehabilitate the space of an abandoned cement factory, drawing a connection between public intervention and restoration, focusing on political and public art to rewrite a history of industrial failure in a region poor of Spain, achieving in both crowdfunding campaigns a total of โฌ18,325.
โ๐ฝ La Benรฉfica, for its part, was the initiative of a neighborhood association (18,000 at that time) of mutual aid in times of illness, widowhood, etc. that in 1926 built a building of about 400 mยฒ that served as a theater, dance hall, social meeting place and cinema every Sunday, whose project ended in 1946 and is now being rebuilt as a space for co-creation through art and culture, with the notable encouragement of the crowdfunding campaign which raised โฌ136,425 and received โฌ20,000 from a private matcher, specifically the Primavera Sound Festival.
